Client: York County Heritage Trust
Location: York, PA
The York County History Center is envisioned to consolidate a number of collections and historical/cultural resources from multiple sites around York to one centralized location. The new facility will eliminate significant capital expenditures at the other facilities and enhance the visitor experience through improved programming and display. Grantwise team members are working with the Board to refine the concept for a new History Center, providing cost estimates and pre-construction advice to the Board and support for the capital campaign. The current plan includes securing $10 million in Commonwealth funding through a RACP grant, $6M in funding from individuals and corporations and the remaining funding coming from grants and Historic Tax Credits. Having been invited to submit an application for the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program, the Board sought assistance during the application process and possibly with subsequent phases, pending approval.
