Client: The M. S. Hershey Foundation
Location: Hershey, PA
As the owner’s representative, Capital Construction Management provided project oversight for the construction of The Hershey Story Museum, the first monumental building to be built in downtown Hershey in the past 75 years. The project was delivered using a Construction Management at-risk Guaranteed Maximum Price contract and included public funding through the Commonwealth’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) as well as from a non-profit endowment and a capital campaign. CCM guided the project from the initial concept through contractor selection, design, budget development and negotiation, construction oversight, closeout and warranty administration. Special consideration was given to RACP grant compliance and timely reimbursement of project funds. In addition to an interactive museum, the facility houses a small restaurant, a gift shop, collections storage, and Foundation offices.
